Welcome

Welcome to the website of Louisburgh Community Project.  Here you will find information about the background to the Project as well as about our upcoming events.  Louisburgh Community Project was set up in September 1996 as a local response to needs identified by local people.  It is part of a network of Community Development Projects (CDP’s) around the country operating under the national Local and Community Development Programme (LCDP) and is managed by a local voluntary management committee and staffed by three full time staff.
The CDP's are funded by the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs.  Louisburgh Community Project is designed to be a resource for the Louisburgh, Killeen and Lecanvey Communities.

The Project's aims are:

To promote Community Development as a means of social change.
To assist people to realise their full potential, especially those experiencing social exclusion and poverty.
To support people in articulating their needs and determining their own solutions.
To respond to key issues and needs of the area.
To engage with agencies at a local, regional and national level.
